If there is one Studio in the world that needs no introduction, it is Marvel Studios. There can be no doubt amongst Studios in the world that it possesses the finest Visuals and concept-oriented in the Movies So far, 16 Marvel Studios movies are available to stream on Disney+.
However, among the more glaring omissions are the studio’s two live-action films directed by your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Unfortunately, fans hoping to get away from home on Spider-Man: Homecoming or Spider-Man: New Streaming Service are in a big disappointment.
The Verge spoke to Ricky Strauss, head of content and marketing, at a recent New York media event. When asked if the platform would ever add Peter Parker’s latest cinematic outing to his library, Strauss did not write the words.
Strauss said that “We love our friends on Sony, but we have no plans to do live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney +.” “We’ll have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they were right there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what might happen in the future?”
Since Marvel only co-produced Tom Holland-led Spider-Man films with Sony, the news was not unexpected. Of course, this does not necessarily kill the character’s future in streaming.
Sony recently licensed both Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Spider-Word in Netflix. So if new movies end up on other streaming platforms, this seems the most logical option.
Regardless, there is still plenty of other Spidey-related content on Disney + for customers to sink their teeth into. Viewers can see just about every animated series that has featured web slingers over the past few decades. Some of the more contemporary options include the ongoing Marvel’s Spider-Man series as well as Ultimate Spider-Man.
Additionally, more indifferent crowds can binge episodes of classic series such as Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and fan-favorite ’90s cartoons.
