PlayStation CEO Announced to upgrade the PS5 as fast as possible

The PlayStation 4 has been a huge success for Sony becoming the second-best-selling console ever. Sony is looking to move that into success for its next generation. New PlayStation boss Jim Ryan says that the company’s main goal is to move the community from the current generation to the PlayStation 5 more quickly.

In an interview with Games Industry, Ryan explained that Sony is preparing for a major launch next year, and the company wants to transition its PS4 customers to the next version as fast as possible.

He said that these are the gamers who are engaged and passionate about PlayStation that we’ve not even seen in the previous generations. He added, As we move towards the next-generation in 2020, one of our tasks is to take that community and transition it from PS4 to PS 5 at a pace that we’ve never delivered on before.

It’s still unclear that how Sony plans to move the players along to the new console or this will impact its stated plans of releasing games cross-platform. Ryan went on to point out that the developers and the publishers have given good feedback on the PS5’s development tools, something that was a particular issue with the PS3.

Gamers who upgrade from the PS4 to the PS5 version will want to keep the games they already own and play them on the new machine. Ryan’s comment doesn’t specifically address the backward compatibility matter, one that’s about to be fully explained by Sony. But there’s no way Sony could secure a massive transition to PS5 without this feature onboard.

Finally, to achieve the massive PS5 adoption that Sony wants, the company will need to launch the console in as many markets as fast as possible, and Ryan’s comments indicate that Sony is working on a more cohesive strategy for launching the new console globally, while also catering to the various needs of different regions of the world

This comes as Sony reshuffles its management to prepare for the next generation, which includes a more globalized strategy.
